SHERBURNE – Gladys L. Carnrike, 84, Sherburne, passed away on Nov. 17, 2012 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton.
Gladys was born on July 28, 1928 in Sherburne, the daughter of Max & Carrie May (Church) Bagnall. Her childhood was spent in the Sherburne area. She enjoyed 68 years of marriage with James L Carnrike whom she married on Dec. 22, 1944.
She is survived by her husband James; children: Donna Mae & Lawrence Bartlett of Louisburg, NC, Barbara & Pete Prentice of Cazenovia, Debra & Nelson Wedge of Earlville; son-in-law: David Monro; brother: William Bagnall of Sherburne; 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was also the foster mother to 20 children.
Gladys was predeceased by one daughter, Regina Monro; brothers: Benton and Robert Bagnall; and one sister; Frances Malhenzie.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday at the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin, with Paul Cunningham of Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall, Norwich, officiating. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to noon prior to the funeral service, also at the funeral home.
The burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, New Berlin.
