NORWICH – George Kenneth Walker, 87, Norwich, passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 20, 2012, in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
The oldest of 13 siblings, George was born in Sayre, Pa., on Feb. 5, 1925, the son of Gordon and Marguerite Walker He attended school in Troy, Pa. and had been in the Merchant Marines, where he was also a POW. Over the years, George has worked for the Lehigh Valley Railroad and a silk mill in Pennsylvania, Dresler Slaughter House. the S-E School system as a custodian, Kenyon Press, Wal-Mart and several area farms.
On. Feb. 25, 1984, in the First Baptist Church of Norwich, he married Marlene White, who survives.
Besides his wife Marlene of Norwich, George is survived by his children, George, Donna and Debby.
Memorial services for George will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. David Siegel, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Norwich, will officiate.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no calling hours.
