NORWICH – Leonard R. Suda, 66, of Norwich, passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 25, 2012, in the Norwich Rehab and Nursing Center of Norwich.
Leonard was born in Kingston, Pa. on May 8, 1946, the son of John and Sophie Gavlic Suda. He grew up in Wilkes-Barre where he attended the local schools and furthered his education by attending and graduating from Penn State University. He eventually moved to the Binghamton area where he met Catherine Merritt. They were married on Nov. 23, 1968 in St. Joseph’s Church of Oxford; she passed away on March 11, 2005. Over the years Leonard worked as a design engineer for Raymond, the Carrier Corp., MAC and Bombardier in Bath, NY from which he retired in 2009.
Leonard was devoted to his family and preferred to live a simple and uncomplicated life. He was an avid Ham Radio operator.
Leonard is survived by his children Leonard Thomas Suda and wife Janet of Norwich, Angela Suda and companion John Tracy and their son John Uri Tracy, PennyLynn Suda of Norwich and her children MarkLuke Hanshaw, Holly Wakefield and her husband Tim of Oxford and their children Chassity, Nicholas and Haleigh and Timothy Suda and wife Danielle of Guilford and their children Victoria, Isabel and Sophia. Also surviving are several sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles and cousins throughout the country.
A private funeral service for Leonard will be held from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home with interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery of Oxford.
