OXFORD – Joseph N. Whaley, 21, passed on Dec. 3, 2012 in Florida where he was residing with his fiancée and daughter. He was born Nov. 20, 1991 in Norwich. He grew up in Oxford, and graduated Oxford Academy High School.
Joe had a rocky beginning but was coming into his own and lived each day for his daughter and fiancée. Joe had a big heart and a great sense of humor always routing for the underdog. He was a dedicated loving father who put his family before himself. Working endless hours was training to become a shift manager and with his drive and energy would have been a very successful young man.
He is survived by his fiancée Allison; daughter Nicole; mother Christine Whaley; sister Katie Whaley; brother Billy Whaley; and father Robert Whaley.
Church services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Oxford, 3 Scott Street.
