SMYRNA – Lawrence G. Branagan, 76, of Quaker Hill Rd., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at the Crouse Community Center in Morrisville.
He was born Oct. 8, 1936 in the Town of Lebanon, one of seven children of Lawrence E. and Evelyn Middleton Branagan and received his education in Smyrna and Sherburne schools. On June 30, 1960, Lawrence married Erma E. Coleman in Earlville. He was a service technician at Evergreen Farm and Garden in New Berlin until his retirement. Lawrence was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. His favorite hobby was woodworking. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Smyrna.
Surviving are his wife, Erma; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Sharon Branagan of Smyrna; sister, Diane Branagan of Norwich; brother, Gerald Branagan of Lebanon; brothers-in-law, Bob Scougal of Carthage and Clarence Hill of the Philippines; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Vernon Middleton; and three sisters, Ruby Hill, Betty Scougal and Sharon Manwarren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment will be in the Willcox Cemetery, Town of Smyrna in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
