NORWICH – Margaret J. Natoli, 89, a longtime Norwich resident, passed away Thursday evening, Feb. 7, 2013 in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Margaret was born Oct. 24, 1923 in Livingston Manor, the daughter of Simeon and Margaret Wormuth Beismer. She came to the Norwich area in the early 1940s and on Jan. 9, 1944 she married Angelo M. “Rack” Natoli. Early in her working career she had worked for the M.H.Fishman’s Dept. Store in Norwich. Margaret will be best remembered for her time worked in the Norwich Middle School cafeteria, where she was employed for over 25 years, retiring in 2000.
Margaret’s main focus in life was her family, home and church. She enjoyed taking care of her family in both good and bad times, took great pride in her home and was a devoted member of St. Bartholomew’s Roman Catholic Church. Quite often she could be seen walking to the hospital to visit her husband or on her way to church.
Margaret is survived by her children, Michele Natoli Haughton of Norwich, Michael Natoli of North Norwich and Guy Natoli of Rochester. Also surviving is her brother Harold Beismer of Masonville, her grandchildren Jonathan and Joseph Haughton of Liverpool, Michael Natoli of North Norwich, Matthew Natoli and wife Katie of Charlotte, NC, Simeon Paul Natoli of Glenns Falls, Megan Michele Natoli of North Norwich and Marissa Margaret Natoli of Earlville along with four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Angelo “Rack” Natoli, her daughter Toni Natoli, her sisters Iona, Vivian, Geraldine, Mary, Georgianna, and Fannie and her brothers Simeon and Roy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from St. Bartholomew’s Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Ralph A. Bove, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. The recitation of the Rosary for family and friends will be held at 4 p.m. from the funeral home.
