NORWICH – Isabelle E. Gage, 85, of Norwich and formerly of Mt. Upton, passed away late Thursday evening, April 4, 2013 in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Isabelle was born in Middlefield, NY on July 15, 1927 the daughter of Samuel and Lillian Helmuth Gage. She lived with her family in the Smyrna and Sherburne area where she attended the local schools. On June 4, 1966 in Norwich she married Donald Gage, who passed away in September of 2001. Isabelle and her husband made their home in Mt. Upton for more than 20 years and after his passing she came to Norwich where she made her home.
Isabelle is survived by her sister, Lillian Long of SC; her brothers Dudley Church and wife Marion of New Berlin and Archie Church of TN; her grandson Kyle Oliver of NM;and her step-children Donald (Butch) Gage and wife Dawn of Gilbertsville, Alan Gage and wife Monia of East Rochester and Christine Yelton and husband Dean of Alexandria, VA. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Donald, Isabelle was predeceased by her daughter, Gloria Oliver, her sisters, Viola Moon and Josephine Dewey and her brothers Edwin, Samuel and Richard Church.
A funeral service for Isabelle will be held at noon Thursday from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery of Mt. Upton.
