OXFORD – Stephen J. Drake, 62, formerly of Oxford, passed away April 26, 2013 at his home in Meherrin, VA, after a five year battle with cancer.
He is predeceased by his brother, Thomas R. Drake, of Oxford; and his father, Thomas C. Drake, also of Oxford.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Lynda Smith-Drake, of Meherrin; his son, Jason M. Drake and wife Lindsay Drake, of Norwich; his stepson, Matthew Ingraham, of Meherrin; his mother, Dorothy Hickox and husband Slim, of Norwich; his brother, Richard Drake and wife Diane, of Oxford; five grandchildren, Steven and Ryan Drake, and Leigh Ann Murray, of Norwich, and Jeremy and Hannah Ingraham, of Meherrin; many nieces, nephews and their children; longtime friends Roseland Ryan, of North Norwich, and Art Freeman, of Virginia; and many more friends.
