NORWICH – Vernon T. Bonacci, 64, of Norwich, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at his residence.
Born August 17, 1948, in Utica, Vern was the son of Frank Bonacci and Frances (Arria) Kepner. His mother, Frances, survives. On October 1, 1982, Vern married his wife of 30 years, Pamela (Ramsey) Bonacci, who also survives.
Vern worked for a time as a trackman for Conrail and as a teacher’s aide for DCMO BOCES. He served BOCES for 18 years, and took great pride in his role at the Eaton Center in Norwich helping guide high school aged youth to succeed in the job market and coaching them on job search and application skills. He was an avid reader and lover of college sports, especially the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Vern was a devoted and beloved husband and father. In addition to his wife and mother, Vern is survived by his daughter, Elisabeth Bonacci, and his son, Andrew Bonacci. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Barbara Baker, and her husband, Duane, and nephew, Ryan Ramsey, and his wife Bonnie.
A graveside service for Vern was held today at St. Paul’s Cemetery where Rev. Ralph Bove, pastor, St. Bartholomew’s Church, officiated.
