WHITING – Claire D. (nee Duffy) Bernardo, 91, of Whiting, NJ, formerly Cliffside Park, NJ, on Monday, May 20, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Frank Bernardo (2001). Loving aunt of Joseph Loftus Jr. and his wife Johneen of Norwich, NY; James Loftus of NJ; and James Duffy of NJ. Claire was pre-deceased by her parents Tillie and James Duffy, and her sister Audrey Loftus, and her brother James Duffy. Claire was a former Deacon of the Consistory and former Treasurer of the Bergen Boulevard Reformed Church in Ridgefield, NJ. Claire was a proud U.S. Army nurse during WWII. Claire belonged to the Eastern Stars and D.A.V. Womens Club. Funeral service at noon on May 23 from the McCorry Brothers Funeral Home, 780 Anderson Avenue, Cliffside Park, NJ. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. Visiting hours from 10 a.m. to noon on May 23.
