BETTY JEAN SMITH
OXFORD – Betty Jean Smith, 82 of Oxford, passed away on June 1, 2013 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Residential Health Care Facility. She was born on November 6, 1930 a daughter of the late William and Ethelyn (Lobdell) Smith.
She is survived by her twin sister, Ruth Booth; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Francis and Robert, and her sisters, Margaret and Helen.
Betty was long time resident of Oxford, where she was known for her many walks and trips to the library. She was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Oxford Historical Society. She was a talented artist.
Funeral services will be held on at 8 p.m. on June June 6 at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St, Oxford, NY, with the Rev. Dr. Barbara Green, interim pastor of the Oxford United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on June 6 at the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Historical Society.
