NORWICH – Michael Paul Scott, 69, of Prospect, KY, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 12, 2013. Born February 5, 1944 in Norwich, NY, he was the son of James Edwin and Helen Normile Scott Lee.
Mike graduated from Babson College with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1965. He was Owner and President of Kentucky Claims Service, Inc. He served on the Prospect City Council and was a member of Christ Church United Methodist. Mike was a Past Elder at Springdale Presbyterian Church, a Past President of Wayside Christian Mission Board of Directors, and a Past Board Member of Hunting Creek Country Club.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Velma Wilson Scott; children, Jennifer (Craig) York , Jim (Brandy) Scott; and grandchildren, Katelyn Scott, Lauren Scott, Wilson York, and James David York. Mike is also survived by three brothers, Dennis (Janice) Scott and James (Mary) Scott and Dennis (Judy) Lee. He was a loving husband, father, friend, and “Pops.”A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on July 19 at Christ Church United Methodist, 4614 Brownsboro Road, Louisville, KY. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
