NORWICH – Virginia “Honey” Maiurano, 78, of Norwich, passed away August 11, 2013 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY. She was born on May 15, 1935 in Oswego, NY a daughter of the late George and Jennie Frances (Sidote) Yacano.
She is survived by her husband, Francis “Bill” Maiurano of Norwich; her children, Francis “Frank” Maiurano Jr., Joseph and Frances Maiurano, Cathy Warner, and Virginia and Robert Allen; her grandchildren, Jennifer Palmer, Virginia Maiurano, Concetta Maiurano, Maria Maiurano, David Allen, and Becky Allen; and her great grandchildren, Catarina Palmer, Andrew Palmer, and Tricten Palmer and great great grandchild, Rallen; her brother, George Yacano and her sister Frances Armstrong. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Honey was a graduate of Norwich High School. She and Bill had operated Maiurano’s Flower Shop for many years. She also operated Maiurano’s Christmas Shop for many years. She was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Roman Catholic Church.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at St. Bartholomew’s Roman Catholic Church, East Main St., Norwich, NY. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Norwich.
