SOUTH PLYMOUTH – Steven K. Perry, 59, of South Plymouth, passed away Sat., Aug. 10, 2013 in the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Norwich.
Steve was born in Rockland, NY on Feb. 1, 1954 the son of Albert and Hazel Tuttle Perry. He grew up in Rockland where he attended the local schools and eventually moved to the Norwich area where he gained employment with the Norwich Shoe Co. In 1983 Steve decided to move back to Livingston Manor and in 1998 came back to the Norwich area. He was employed by Pegasus Cleaning Service and Wal-Mart.
Steve loved his family and had a humorous personality. He was a very giving individual who would do anything for anyone and his home was always open to all. He enjoyed his cookouts, hunting and fishing.
On March 29, 1986 in Livingston Manor he married Dorothy Smith who survives.
Besides his wife Dorothy, Steve is survived by his children Steven A. Perry and Brad A. Perry, both of South Plymouth; Edward Miller and his wife Sherri of Earlville; Daisy Miller and companion Merton Zayas of Parksville; and Brandy Miller and companion Kevin Peckem of Vernon; his sisters, Rose Thomas of Norwich, Lucy Alger and husband Kenneth of VA, Candy Sherman and husband Lynn of AZ; and his brothers Marvin Perry of Livingston Manor, Francis Perry and companion Danielle Edwards of Liberty, James Perry and companion Jannett Breault of Keysville and John Perry and companion Carol Potter also of Keysville. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and his sister-in-law Kimberly Perry.
Steve was predeceased by his sister Rachel Tucker, his brother Mike Perry and his grandson Dalton Miller.
A funeral service for Steve will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Neil Bendixen, Pastor of the Canasawacta Valley Free Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Thursday.
