DORIS HOFFMAN
NORWICH – Doris K. Hoffman, 95, of Norwich, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in the Residential Health Care Facility of Chenango Memorial Hospital where she received wonderful and compassionate care.
Born February 2, 1918 in Lewistown, PA, Doris was the daughter of John and Mary (Odenkirk) Moore. She spent her early years in Lewistown and in 1936 married Walter W. Hoffman. Walter died August 8, 1988. Doris devoted her life to her family and was an active member and volunteer at the United Church of Christ. In her spare time, she loved to knit.
Doris is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Sprout and her husband, Gary, of Norwich; two granddaughters, Stacy and John Knapp, of Mason, OH and Kelly Sprout Willis, of Norwich; three great-grandchildren, Brock Kossman and Drew and Trey Knapp. She was predeceased by her brother, John Moore.
Funeral services for Doris will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the United Church of Christ First Congregational. Burial will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery on Monday. There will be no calling hours.
Contributions in memory of Doris may be made to the Activities Committee of the Chenango Memorial RHCF, 179 No. Broad Street or to the Chenango Valley Home, 24, Canasawacta Street, both in Norwich.
