NORWICH – Dean S. Allen, 73, of Jones Avenue, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany.
Born July 27, 1932 in Norwich, Dean was the son of Lewis J. and Bernice E. (King) Allen. He was retired from the United States Air Force where he was a supply sergeant. Dean was a former member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
On March 26, 1977, in Trumansburg, Dean married Marguerite E. (Merritt) Allen. Marguerite died on February 1, 2006. Surviving are a sister, Vivian Sarantopoulos of Selkirk; a brother, Gene Allen and his wife, Lisa, of Norwich and several nieces and nephews including Cathi Bradley and her husband, George of Norwich and Sherry Stanton and her husband Bob, of Selkirk. Many grandnieces and grandnephews also survive.
It was Dean’s request that there be no funeral services. Burial will take place in Columbus Corners Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New York State Veterans Home, East River Road, Oxford, NY 13830.
