Bertha Weeden
GUILFORD – Bertha G. Chesebro Weeden, 97, of Bristol, Tenn., formerly of Guilford, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, in the Wellmont Hospice House.
She was born on Saturday, Feb. 20, 1909 in Worcester, to the late Arthur and Ida Christian Gould. She was employed at Bendix Aviation Corporation in Sidne for 35 years. She had lived in the Bristol area for 30 years and was a faithful member of Addilynn United Methodist Church. Mrs. Weeden was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Weeden, and four children, Russell Chesebro, Ted Chesebro, Jr., Geneva Winchell, and Bob Chesebro.
Survivors include her four sons, Don Chesebro and his wife Mary of Destin, Florida, Harry Chesebro and his wife Trudy of Alexandria, Virginia, Hugh Chesebro and his wife Betty Ann of Bluff City, Tenn., Gordy Weeden and his wife Debbie of Bluff City, Tenn.; her three daughters, Barb Elliott and her husband Dick of Cazenovia, Doris Caserta of Mays Landing, N.J., and Sandy Weeden of Phoenix, Ariz. Mrs. Weeden is also survived by 118 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Oakley-Cook Funeral Home in Bristol. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19 in the Addilynn United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Brown and Rev. David Anderson officiating.
The committal and interment will be held at a later date in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, in Guilford.
