NORWICH – Catherine A. Raffaele, 79, of Norwich, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007.
Born July 17, 1927 in Norwich, Katie was the daughter of Bartolo and Frances (Mirabito) Raffaele. She attended Norwich Schools and worked at Norwich Knitting Mill, retiring from Champion Products in 1990.
Katie loved to cook and read, but she was devoted to her greatest love, her family.
Katie is survived by her sister Frances Blinebry and her brother Sam Raffaele, both of Norwich; a niece, Donna Nichols and her husband Kim, and their children Sean and Ashley of Oxford; an aunt, Mary DeGeorge of Largo, Fla.; and several cousins.  She was predeceased by a sister, Angelina Maxim.
Funeral services for Katie will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Wilson Funeral Home. Rev. Thomas Ward, pastor of St. Joseph’s Church in Oxford, will officiate. At Katie’s request, there will be no calling hours.  Burial will be in the spring in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Katie’s memory may be made to the Norwich Fire Department, or to a charity of your choice.
