LAWRENCE ROBINSON
NORWICH – Lawrence T. “Larry” Robinson, 84, of Schuyler Lake, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 17, 2007 at his home.
The son of Jack and Harriett Robinson, Larry was born in Mt. Holly, N.J., on Dec. 2, 1922. He attended the local schools while growing up in Mt. Holly, after which he worked for the CCC camp in the state of Washington prior to joining the U. S. Air Force. In Trenton, N.J., on March 24, 1951, Larry married Estella A. Simpson. They had lived in Schuyler Lake since 1957, with Larry working as an electrical engineer for the Utica General Electric plant. He retired in 1979.
Larry is survived by his brother, Charles Robinson of Norwich, and his sisters, Barbara Grove and Virginia Hartley, both of New Jersey. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Estella Robinson, on March 29, 2005; and by his sister and brother, Marilyn Riley and Joe Robinson.
Graveside services for Larry will be held in the spring from Mt. Hope Cemetery of Norwich, at a time to be announced. There will be no calling hours, but a memorial service has been set for 2 p.m. on March 17, at the Exeter Historical Society in Schuyler Lake (Polly’s House).
Larry’s family has requested that memorial contributions be sent to the Exeter Historical Society (Polly’s House), P. 0. Box 14, Schuyler Lake, New York 13457.
Arrangements are by the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home of Norwich.
