PLYMOUTH – Alexander F. Prusinowski, 86, of Beaver Meadow Road, Plymouth, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at his home.
Born on March 17, 1920, in Syracuse, Alexander grew up there and attended the local schools. As a young man, he worked at the Syracuse Foundry and also in the CCC Camps in Idaho prior to entering the Navy and serving his country during World War II. Following his military duty, Alexander worked as a general construction laborer for JGA Construction in Syracuse, from which he retired. In the 1980s, he began coming to Beaver Meadow and established a home there, becoming a permanent Chenango County resident in 1987. Alexander was a long-time member and past commander of American Legion Pulaski Post 1650 in Syracuse, and was a founding member and the first drum major of the PLAV Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps in Syracuse. He was also a member of the South Otselic American Legion. A nature lover, he was a good cook and liked to dance. He had a generous heart but a thrifty nature, enjoying giving out presents but using care in how much he spent.
