NORWICH - Gary Nichols, 56, of Chenango Forks and formerly of Norwich, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2006 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He was born April 12, 1950 to the late Donald and Mabel (Angle) Nichols in Norwich.
Gary is survived by his special loving companion, Diana J. Barnhart; daughter, Vicky Beech of Oxford; son, Gary L. Nichols, Jr. of Norwich; four grandchildren; brother, Donald & Sue Nichols of Solsville; five sisters, Patricia & Frank Speziale of Norwich, Debra & Lawrence Beckwith of McDonough, Karen & William Shaw of Sidney, Dianna & Dave Conklin of German, Donna & Timothy Tefft of Oxford; aunt, Alice Angle of Preston; Diana’s mother, Rose Smith and her family of Binghamton along with several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Benjamin Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Norwich.
