NEW BERLIN – John A. Peck, 66, of New Berlin, passed away March 11, 2007 in Liberty Hill, Texas.
He was born Feb. 20, 1942 in Brooklyn, the son of Anacletus & Cecelia (Sadej) Peck. On Feb. 6, 1965, he married Patricia A. Matteson. She predeceased him on Oct. 5, 1997.
John spent his childhood in Pitcher, and attended Cincinnatus Central School. He was a retired IBM employee.
John was an avid golfer, who always looked forward to the nice weather and spent most of his time on the golf courses with his friends. Summer was definitely his favorite time. He was a very loving father and grandfather who would do anything he could for his family. There would usually be two places to find him in the summer time, either the golf course or the lawn mower. John was on vacation visiting his oldest son John in Texas when his death occurred. He was very happy and excited about his trip there. He will be missed very much by his sons, grandsons, granddaughter and the rest of his family and friends.
He is survived by his children: John T. Peck and wife Joanna of Liberty Hill, Texas, and Patrick M. Peck and wife Lana of New Berlin; his grandchildren: Robert John, Ian, Devin and Sarah; a brother: Gregory Peck of Pitcher; a sister: Barbara Dziedzic of Winter Haven, Fla.; a brother-in-law: John Matteson of Turin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Dakin Funeral Home. Interment will be in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, New Berlin.
