Tammy Periard
NORWICH – Tammy Lynne Periard, 45, well known and life-long Norwich resident, passed away Monday, March 26, 2007 in Norwich.
The daughter of James and Beverly (Fleming) Periard, Tammy was born in Norwich on June 16, 1961. Following her graduation from the Norwich High School in 1979, she took some classes at SUNY Morrisville. During the next years, Tammy honed her many skills and excelled at numerous jobs, working for the Blue Bird Restaurant, Preferred Mutual Insurance Company, Norwich Furniture, McNeil’s Jewelers, and Grove Park. She owned and managed her own craft store on South Broad St. and was a very talented cake decorator. For the past 10-11 years, she was the property manager for Kelly Management of Norwich.
Considered the “Martha Stewart of Norwich” and a beautiful free spirit, Tammy was a people-person who was thoughtful and giving of herself. Having no children of her own, she was very attached to her nieces and nephews and would spend countless hours with them and supporting their projects and groups. If any of them needed a hand, hers was always there for them.
Tammy is survived by her mother, Beverly of Norwich; her step-father, Charlie Cornell of Norwich, her sisters: Pamela Periard and fiancé David Vidler of Sherburne, Terri Ann Aikins and fiancé Steven Shonosky of Norwich, Lisa Fitch and husband Lavern of Norwich, and Susan Kohout and husband Kevin of Davenport; and by her maternal grandparents, William and Sarah Fleming of Norwich. She is also survived by her adored nieces and nephews: Danielle Conant of New Hartford, Stacey Roach and husband Reuben of Sherburne, Brandon Conant in the U.S. Army, stationed in Hawaii; Ashley Aikins, Amber Fitch, and Lauren Fitch, all of Norwich; Matthew Fitch in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany; Cheyenne Aikins and McKenzie Fitch of Norwich; Bryce, Kayla, and Kendra Kohout of Davenport, and Jodaya, Dakota, and Jonathan Kohout of Norwich; by great niece and great nephew Kearstin and Regan Roach of Sherburne, and by great niece Presley Aikins, soon to be born. Tammy is survived by her very special friends Kathy Crawford, Betty Christian, and Karin Gross; and by several step-brothers and step-sisters. She was predeceased by her dad, Jim Periard; and by her maternal great grandparents, Clarence and Mildred Knapp.
Funeral services for Tammy will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Stephen Reese, pastor of the Columbus Community Church, will officiate. Interment will be at a later date. Friends are invited to call at the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.
