NORWICH – Francis J. ‘Frank’ Dolan, 90 of Orlando Fla., and formerly of Norwich, passed away peacefully at the home of his niece in Ithaca, on Saturday, April 21, 2007.
Born in Norwich on June 18, 1916, Frank was the son of John and Mary Farrell Dolan. After graduation from Norwich High School, Frank served in the Signal Corp in the US Army in the South Pacific during World War II.
After his military service he moved to Orlando, Fla., where he sold appliances for Sears Roebuck and other retail outlets for 40+ years. He retired at age 83 from the circulation department of the Orlando Sentinel. He was a member of St. James’ Cathedral Catholic Church in Orlando.
Frank is survived by a brother, John E., and a sister-in-law Jean Dolan both of Norwich. He is also survived by nieces Janice Yacano, Linda Baker, Mary Pat Dolan Kerness, Sally Follett, Ann Dolan and Nancy Roder. He is survived by nephews John F, Michael, Timothy, Thomas, Mark, Christopher and James Dolan. He was predeceased by brothers James T. and infant brother John F., his sister Anna Dolan Suplee and a niece Marilyn Baker.
Funeral services for Frank will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Church. Rev. Douglas Cunningham, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Marian Chapel in St. Paul’s on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
