NORWICH – Robert Dickinson Congdon, who was born Oct. 29, 1921, died April 23, 2007 at Chenango Memorial Hospital with Parkinson’s and other complications.
He had been able to remain in his own home with constant care from wife, Elsie, for which they were both proud and thankful. He is now at peace.
Robert is survived by his wife Elsie Potter Congdon; sons, Robert and Sharon Congdon, Vestal and John and Jean Congdon, Chenango Bridge, inlaws; Robert and Winifred Lobdell, Catherine Leach, Doris Potter, George Potter, Emmerich Bares, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Leon and Mary, sister, Mary Jane, first wife, Irene Congdon, and brothers Jobe and John, Elton and Virginia Beckwith, Harold Leach and Kenneth Potter. Robert was a longtime employee of Piersons, Cahill’s and Office Products.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of services. Interment in Spring Forest Cemetery.
