SIDNEY – William F. Crandall, 85, of Sidney, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich.
He was born Feb. 13, 1922, son of the late Lee and Ethel (Hogancamp) Crandall in Norwich.
Bill served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He married Jean (Burns) on May 29, 1962 in Bainbridge.
He was employed as a mechanic and group leader for Bendix in Sidney when he retired and had worked at TRIMAC Molding Services in Bainbridge for 13 years.
Bill was a life member of the Sidney American Legion and VFW and was member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Crandall of Sidney; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Beatrice Crandall of Norwich; four step-sons, George and Barbara Bennett of Peso, Ariz., Harold (Skip) and Linda Pickwick of Bainbridge, David Pickwick of Florida and Steven Pickwick of Milford; a sister and brother-in-law, Ina and James Homovich of Norwich; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 15 Liberty St. Sidney, with Fr. Gordon Polenz officiating.
Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney.
