OXFORD – Joan Grace Christianson went to be with our Lord peacefully in her sleep July 11, 2007.
She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Viola Hilbert. Born in Dallas, Pa. and celebrated her 70th birthday May 26, 2007.
After graduating from Dallas High School, she lived in New Jersey for many years before moving to New York in 1979. She was employed for many years and still working at The Bida Home for Adults, Oxford.
Joan was the loving mother of her children Alan Greco, Joyce Moore and husband Richard, Tammy Russell and husband Jeffrey, Donald Greco and companion Vicky and her children. She loved all her grandchildren Liz, Alan, Trevor, Jeremy, Dawn, Teresa, Alicia, Dondio and Sean. She also had four great-grandchildren.
Joan is survived by her sisters Gladys, Inez and Joyce; brothers Stanley, Philip, Todd and Glenn, many nieces and nephews. Nettie was Joan’s very close and dear friend.
Joan is predeceased by sisters Karen, Marguerite and Alice.
Her passion was growing flowers, wherever she lived her yard was a huge beautiful garden as well as her house plants.
Joan, many years ago, made a request of her children stating she did not want a funeral; she wanted her body to be donated to science research. Her children have complied with her request.
She will be truly missed by all who loved her. At her request, there will be no calling hours.
