NEW BERLIN – John A. Matteson, 59, of Turin, passed away at his home on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1947 in New Berlin, the son of John B. Matteson and Dorothy Hansen Matteson. He spent his childhood years in New Berlin and attended the New Berlin Central School.
John was an avid golfer and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. He retired from Kraft Foods, Lowville, after 30 years of employment.
John is survived by two nephews, John T. Peck of Liberty Hill, Texas and Patrick M. Peck of New Berlin.
He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Peck.
Funeral services will be at the Dakin Funeral Home, LP, New Berlin, on Friday at 2 p.m. with the Father Francis Case of the Saint Theresa Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin. Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dakin Funeral Home, 17 North Main St., New Berlin.
