McDONOUGH – Evelyn S. Emerson, 94, of McDonough, passed away on Aug. 17, 2007 at Gilmour Health Care Facility, Norwich.
She was born on Feb. 6, 1913 in McDonough, the daughter of the late Robert and Grace (Stuart) Emerson.
She is survived by several second cousins and her special friends, Wilson and Lucille Sherman of McDonough.
Evelyn graduted from Oxford Academy and Central School and Beaver College in Jenkintown, Pa. with a bachelor of science degree. She was the executive secretary at the Fowler, Dick and Walker Store in Binghamton for many years. She enjoyed her home and friends in McDonough, where she lived her entire life. She loved her independence. She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church in McDonough for many years.
Funeral services will be held today, Monday, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Oxford with the Rev. Charles Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, McDonough.
Friends may call at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church from 1 p.m. Monday until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity in Evelyn’s memory.
