James Maiurano


 NORWICH – James E. Maiurano, 59, of East State Street in Sherburne, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007.
 Born January 21, 1948 in Norwich, Jim was the son of Joseph ‘Pep’ and Rose (D’Ambra) Maiurano.  He graduated from Norwich High School where he had played football and then attended college in Herron, South Dakota and Cortland.  Jim worked for Benedict Supply, Champion, the Norwich Shoe Company and at Webb & Sons.
He was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Church and enjoyed drawing, gardening, cooking and woodworking.  He loved the beach and the time he spent in the Adirondack Mountains.  His greatest love, however, was his family.
Jim is survived by his partner, Joanne Tarbell, of Sherburne; his mother, Rose Maiurano, of Norwich; his children, Christopher Maiurano and Melina Mathers of Saranac Lake, Keeley Fenton and her husband, Rob, of Sherburne, James Maiurano and his wife, Melissa, of Earlville, Whitney Ogren and Bryan McCracken as well as Janelle Ogren and his granddaughter, Contessa Maiurano of Earlville.  Jim is also survived by his brothers, Francis ‘Pep’ and Carol Maiurano of Norwich and Joseph and Dawn Maiurano of Norwich and sisters, Rosaria Del Monico, Catherine Stewart and Mary and Richard Fern.  Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Services for Jim will be conducted at the convenience of the family and there will be no calling hours.
