McDONOUGH – John S. Harahus Jr., 66, of McDonough, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at his home, while surrounded by his family.
Born in Binghamton on Feb. 3, 1946, John was a son of the late John and Zadia Knapp Harahus, Sr. A longtime resident of the area, he served as fire commissioner for the Town of McDonough for the past 14 years.

OXFORD – Frederick Dankert, 83, of Oxford, passed away Sunday afternoon, Feb. 26, 2012, in the Valley View Manor Nursing Home of Norwich.
Fred was born in New York City on Sept. 26. 1928, the son of Frederick and Gertrude (Dixon) Dankert. He was raised in Bayside, Queens and attended Perdue University in Indiana.
