Steve was born in Suffern in February of 1953 the son of Robert and Rose (Haidinger) Grant and attended the Manchester Regional High School in Halden, N.J. He had made his home in the Norwich area for over 30 years and had been employed by Victory Markets in the refrigeration dept. Steve had also worked for period of three years for the Drescher Food Distributors in Syracuse.

NORWICH – Mary Anne Hawley, 81, of Norwich, passed away Tuesday morning, March 1, 2011 in the Wilson Regional Medical Center of Johnson City.
Graveside services for Mary Anne will be held in the spring from the Mt. Hope Cemetery at a time to be announced.

SMYRNA – Edward John Hynes, 82, of Howard Hill Road, passed away Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton.
He was born on Jan. 25, 1929 in Huntington, Long Island, a son of Henry F. and Louise V. Dempsey. Edward is survived by his brother, Kenneth Hynes of Matawan, N.J.

SHERBURNE – Bonita R. VanWagner, 87, of 12 S. Main St., passed away Monday, Feb. 28, 2011 at the Pratt Newton Memorial Home.
She was born March 13, 1923 in Carthage, a daughter of Ralph and Agnes Branagan Meister and was a graduate of Earlville High School in 1940. On Sept. 10, 1941, Bonita was married to Robert A. VanWagner in Earlville. They lived in Earlville until 1957 when they moved to Sherburne. Robert predeceased her on Aug. 28, 1991.

NORWICH – Eleanor Jane Baker Hoag Fehr, 91, formerly of Norwich, passed away in the wee hours of Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, in the Mercy Health and Rehab Center in Auburn.

SHERBURNE – Betty M. Lindholm, 75, of Sherburne, passed away Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011 at the Chase Memorial Nursing Home, New Berlin.
She was born July 27, 1935 in Guilford, a daughter of Francis and Muriel Camp Weidman and was a 1953 graduate of Edmeston High School. NORWICH – Joe Jenkins, 100, of Norwich, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born in Abbeville, Alabama on March 10, 1910, Joe was the son of Lee Parham and Mattie Belle Jenkins. He was raised in Alabama and moved to New York with his brother-in-law, Charlie, in the early 1950s. He was a sawyer and worked his whole life in sawmills, retiring in the 1970s from Baillie Lumber in Smyrna.
Joe loved his family and was a dedicated baseball fan.
