Martin was born June 12, 1956 in Chapel Hill, N.C., the son of William & Nancy (Lyon) Phelps, who survive. EARLVILLE – Gilbert M. Laing, 66, of County Rd. 22, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, May 4, 2008.
