Born in September of 1937, Janice was the daughter of William Law and Mary Newton. Growing up in Norwich in the care of Daisy Fargo, she attended the Norwich schools and worked for a time for the Norwich Shoe Company, the Rea-D-Pak in North Norwich, and for Quality Care as a home health care aide.

SHERBURNE – Lena P. Papelino, 89, formerly of Sherburne, died peacefully Monday evening, Dec. 7, 2009 at the New York State Veteran’s Home, Oxford, where she had been residing since 2002.
She was born Nov. 1, 1920 in Jonesboro, Tenn., the daughter of the late Orville M. and Blanche Treadway Presnell. When she was one year old, her parents moved with her and her sister from Tennessee to a farm on Pleasant Valley and Skinner Hill Roads in Sherburne. NORWICH – Janice Ward, 72, life-long Norwich resident, passed away early Wednesday morning, Dec. 9, 2009, in the Gilmour Health Care Facility.
Funeral services for Janice will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford, pastor of the Earlville Baptist Church, will officiate. SOUTH PLYMOUTH – Robert V. Loomis, 75, of South Plymouth, passed away on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at his home, while surrounded by his family.
Mr. Loomis was born in Noth Pitcher on Dec. 1, 1934, a son of the late Ashville and Hazel Wood Loomis. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a self-employed farmer and dozer operator for over 50 years.
